New York Newborn Portraits with Sadie James Photography
There’s something special about getting to work with families over and over again. That’s pretty obvious. But getting to work with a family that’s close to mine? That’s even more special. I was so lucky to be able to travel to New York this past fall to capture these newborn portraits of Naomi for my dear friend of 25 years, Lauren and her family. I actually photographed her older daughter, Marnie’s newborn portraits a few years ago - so watching this beautiful family grow has become extra special to me!!
I arrived in New York to do this special session and found Lauren and her family waiting with a delicious NYC bagel warm for me! How lucky am I? We converted her apartment into a makeshift studio for Naomi’s session and I have to say, I think it all worked out perfectly! Although I wasn’t home with my full prop closet, I still love the beautiful and soft tones we chose for this session. We spent time capturing Naomi and Marnie, who is absolutely in love with her new little sister!! It’s so cute! We also made sure to capture the entire new family of four - and then some individual portraits of just Naomi. She was a dream during the session.
I am so glad I was able to travel to be with my friend and her growing family to welcome their newest addition into the world - and that I was able to take her newborn portraits, what a privilege. While I was visiting, we also made a point to take portraits with their extended family. Her grandparents and auntie Melanie were visiting from the West Coast so it was the perfect time to do an outdoor mini session with the entire crew! Here’s a few of my favorite moments from Naomi’s sweet newborn session!
